iPhone X Charging / Lightning Port problems
If you are having problems charging your iPhone X, check your iPhone charging using a new Apple EFI-certified cable and charger. If the cable goes ALL the way into your lightning port (you should hear a click), then you may need a Lightning Charging Port replacement. If not, a good cleaning may be enough. (Please don’t try this at home, you need special tools to do this properly, not a toothpick.)
Make sure your iPhone X shows up when connected to iTunes or you may have other issues.
Since your checking your Lightning / Charging port, consider doing an encrypted backup of your iPhone X in iTunes before bringing it in. Better safe than sorry.
